Elscint recently manufactured a unique Vibratory Bowl Feeder for feeding of wads. The wads were of the size 16 x 25 x 55 mm length and the requirement was to get them lengthwise with the mouth forward. Speed required was 80 parts per minute per row and they were to come out in 2 rows. Elscint used air jets for orientation of the wads and to achieve the required feed rate. The scope of supply also included two gravity chutes with auto-switch off mechanism once both these were full. As there were two outlets, it was imperative that the proper overflow arrangement was provided. This was done in the bowl itself. The parts being medical grade, stainless steel grade 316 L was required. As the customer required a total of 4 rows, two bowl feeders were supplied, one clockwise and one anti-clockwise, with each row giving 80 parts per minute.
