Elscint recently manufactured and supplied a high speed vibratory bowl feeder along with a linear vibrator for feeding of metal pins to a company in the USA. In fact, this was the 5^th similar bowl feeder supplied to the same customer. The first one was supplied way back in 2014 and as the performance of the same was excellent, the customer has been regularly buying from Elscint. The bowl is made for various sizes of pins having head size 2.8 mm to 3.6 mm and tail size 1.2 mm to 1.8 mm. The length varies from 14.50 mm to 19.50 mm. The orientation required is head up and expected speed / feed rate is 250 parts per minute. The major requirement was that there should be ease of adjustment between the various sizes. Elscint has standardized on the tooling which is very versatile for this purpose, which makes the changeover very easy. The speed or feed rate achieved is between 380 to 400 parts per minute. As the equipment is to be shipped to the USA, it is to made to run on 110 V / 60 Hz supply. This is made possible with the special coils which Elscint manufactures.
