Elscint recently manufactured a vibratory bowl feeder for feeding of two types of large bottle combs. The requirement was to feed both the industrial combs in the same bowl feeder with no changeover. One was having a diameter of 30 mm with a length of 190 mm while the other was 26 mm with a length of 170 mm. The speed required was 50 parts per minute. The bowl was designed in such a way that most of the parts coming up the were utilized by orienting in the required manner. Ahead of the bowl feeder a linear track was provided for transferring the parts onto the customer’s machine. As the parts were large only a few could be loaded in the bowl. Hence a 150 ltr extra capacity hopper elevator made fully in stainless steel was provided along with a level controller which gave a signal to the hopper whether the parts in the bowl were sufficient or needed replenishment. If more parts were required, the elevator would start, feed some parts and once the pre determined level was reached, it would stop automatically. Two sets of feeding systems were provided, one clockwise while the other was anti-clockwise. High speeds are difficult to achieve especially in case of large parts and that too rubber ones. But due to its robust high performance drives, Elscint could achieve the same. Further, the bowls were coated with Elscinthane PU coating so that the parts did not get discoloured. Two separate control panels were provided on separate independent stands for ease of operation. The equipment was completed in the desired time and shipped to South Africa.

You can watch the videos of the same.
