Many times, vibratory bowl feeders are used in machines where there is a PLC. If proper care is not taken during the wiring, it results in there being problems with the functioning of the vibratory feeders. It can result in variation in the speed or else can result in the vibratory feeders behaving irrationally. Hence, for the advantage of its customers, Elscint recently published a white paper on using PLC with vibratory bowl feeders. The white paper gives the reasons why this phenomenon happens. This will help in planning the wiring of the panel and help in taking precautions for proper functioning of the same. The white paper also gives recommendations on what type of electrical components to use to avoid the aforesaid problems. The main recommendation is to use an isolation transformer in the panel to isolate the supply going to all the vibratory feeders. Another recommendation is to use 3 Phase input supply and use one isolated phase for the vibratory feeders. Do read the complete white paper here for more details.
