Sometime back, Elscint supplied a bowl for feeding of bearing cups. Though the bearing cups required orientation in “open side facing sky”, the customer was worried about the needles in the bearing cups getting removed or moving and hence did not want to dump the cups into the bowl. Hence, Elscint proposed a flat type bowl wherein the bearing cups would be manually arranged in the bowl. Elscint proposed a flat type bowl wherein the bearing cups would be manually arranged in the bowl. Elscint provided an extra bowl which could be kept ready with the components properly arranged. Once the first bowl gets empty, the other one could easily be replaced as the changeover was by way of a single mounting screw. Additionally, Elscintprovided a gravity chute with an auto-switch off mechanism so that the components would get transferred onto the assembly fixture of the manufacturer. As the speed was very less (200 parts in a shift), the vibratory feeder would remain switched off most of the time. Additionally, Elscint provided an acrylic dust cover on for the bowl, which was easily movable while changing the bowl. Further, provision was made to ensure than in case the bearing cup dimensions change in the future, the changed dimensions would be accommodated.
