Overview
A small-footprint, 100 mm diameter bowl feeder system with a small 300 mm long linear track, duly machined to high accuracy, engineered specifically for high-precision orientation and singulated feeding of thin, disc-shaped components (Ø8 mm x 0.3 mm thickness). Parts this thin are notoriously prone to shingling, overlapping, and jamming at the escapement — this system is purpose-built to solve exactly that problem.
The Challenge
Thin discs behave almost like coins or washers under vibration: they slide over one another, stack up two- or three-deep, and choke standard escapement gates. A generic feeder simply can’t singulate them reliably, leading to false triggers, jammed parts, and inconsistent downstream pick-up.
The Solution — Engineered Singulation Stage
Compact 100 mm bowl — tuned amplitude and track geometry to gently spread and align thin discs without inducing overlap, even at high feed rates.
Dedicated pneumatic singulation module isolates and delivers exactly one component at a time, eliminating double-feeds with a compact cylinder mounted on the linear slide for smooth, repeatable part transfer.
Fiber-optic part-presence sensor — mounted on the adjustable vertical post for precise part detection and closed-loop escapement control, ensuring a “no part, no cycle” interlock.
Rugged mounting plate on isolation frame — anti-vibration base ensures the singulation station remains stable independent of bowl vibration, critical for repeatable pickup accuracy with parts this thin and light.
Quick-connect sensor and pneumatic wiring — clean cable management for fast integration into your existing line control panel.
Why It Matters
Reliable 1-at-a-time part delivery even for wafer-thin, overlap-prone components
Reduces downstream jams, missed picks, and false-part detections
Small footprint — ideal for space-constrained assembly cells
Sensor-verified escapement means you can trust every cycle count.
