Elscint supplied a Centrifugal / Rotary feeder for feeding of assembled battery caps having diameter 15 mm x 6 mm ht. at a speed of 1200 parts per minute in the year 2014. The requirement was to feed these parts at a very high speed with the metal part up. Unassembled parts too were to be removed as there were chances of mix up.

The highly sophisticated dual drive Rotary Feeder with a stand and enclosure was used for this application. The top cover of the enclosure was of polycarbonate sheet. A 50 ltr. hopper feeder was also provided with the Rotary Feeder. A level controller was provided to ensure a start / stop arrangement, so that the number of parts in the rotary feeder is the same at all times.

The customer was very happy with the equipment and it worked continuously, at a speed of 1200 parts per minute 24 x 7 for 12 years (that means almost 839 crores / 8.39 Billion) parts were fed through the same. However, some parts were facing wear and tear and needed replacemens. Hence, last month the customer sent the equipment for overhauling back to us. The same was completely overhauled by changing and reworking some parts. Thereafter, the equipment become better than a new one, feeding at 1500 parts per minute. Ready to work for another 12+ years!
