Elscint recently manufactured and exported a vibratory bowl feeder for small caps to Ireland. The requirement was to feed the caps in a rolling but vertically down orientation. For this the bowl had to orient the caps with open side away from bowl centre. Usually caps have a tendency of coming in the opposite direction i.e. with the open side facing the bowl centre. Hence, making it reverse requires more effort. This was doubly complicated as there were to different caps to be fed in the same bowl. Both the caps had different dimensions, making it more challenging. Changeover was provided in the outlet track of the bowl feeder so that the operator can easily change the same. Further the gravity chute which was rolling and then made vertical was made separate for both the caps. All these changeovers were made very easy to change and the changeover time was just 4 minutes. The bowl feeder was manufactured within the required timeline and dispatched by air freight to the customer’s location in Ireland.
