Elscint recently manufactured & supplied two vibratory bowl feeders for feeding of bearing shells with needles. Usually while feeding such cages with needles in a vibratory bowl feeder there are chances of some of the needles coming out from the cages. However, as Elscint vibrator drives are of FULL Wave operation, the vibrations are smooth and hence such chances are totally eliminated. These bowl feeders were fed in rolling orientation at speeds above 100 parts / minute. The requirement was just 10 to 12 parts per minute. However, by placing a sensor on the output chute / track, the bowl feeder was switched off once the track was full. This resulted in the bowl working only for a few seconds in a couple of minutes. A stand with (+/-) 100 mm ht adjustment too was provided to mount the bowl feeders. This ensured that the output point could easily be matched with the customer machine.
