Elscint recently completed an order of feeding systems for a leading multi national shaving products manufacturing company. The required was for feeding of the razor cartridges along with covers in 4 outlets at a speed of at least 80 parts per minute per outlet. Further 1000 mm long linear tracks were required at the required centre distance to take the cartridges forward. These were completely machined in stainless steel and mounted on Model LF II. The very versatile Model 630 vibratory drive was used with a outer track bowl for this purpose. The total equipment was mounted on a table and a single enclosure was provided to ensure noise reduction and safety. The enclosure was lined with acoustic foam and a 10 mm top polycarbonate cover was provided at the top. Sometimes the cartridges came without covers and sometimes only covers were also dumped along with the cartridges. Proper provision was made to ensure that the cartridges without covers and only covers were removed from the bowl and accumulated in separate bins. These never came out. A speed of 100 to 120 cartridges per minute was achieved in each of the 4 tracks. As there were 4 tracks, proper provision of over-flow (to ensure that the cartridges fall back into the bowl in case the track is full) was made in all 4 tracks and a sensor was fixed on the slowest track to stop the bowl feeder in case the slowest track got full.
