Elscint recently manufactured a bowl feeder for feeding of 4 types of ceramic bushings. The customer wanted double outlets for the same with singulation for picking up the same.

The 4 types of ceramic bushings required different orientations and most of them came in the correct way but the orientation tooling had to be made different for each of them. For this the wrong parts were made to fall back into the bowl. In this bowl, a single line was converted into double line for ensuring two outlets.

Thereafter, as mentioned above, singulators were used for ease of pick up. The parts were made to slide on one side on SMC slides to ensure that the pneumatics do not protrude out as space was a constraint. Sensors were provided for part presence confirmation at the pick up point. Complete controls were provided by Elscint.

The complete assembly was placed on a table The equipment was completed and dispatched to the customer’s location.
