Vibratory Bowl Feeder for feeding thin metal washers

Elscint recently manufactured a vibratory bowl feeder for feeding of thin metal washers having diameter 50 mm x 0.8 mm thickness. As in case of very thin parts, the tendency is to override one on top of the other and in case a wiper is provided, to jam below the same. Further, it becomes very difficult to ensure than a single washer goes forward. The parts also have a tendency to. come as a bunch and are difficult to singulate. Hence, Elscint designed a special step design bowl which eliminates this problem completely. This ensures that the overriding components fall back into the bowl and further eliminates the possibility of jamming due to the overriding of the thin components. The bowl was made in stainless steel and coated with Elscinthane PU coating for good life and performance as well as noise reduction. Additionally, in this case, Elscint offered a linear vibrator with 800 mm long track for further movement upto the customer’s fixture. The linear track was machined with high accuracy to ensure there was not jamming, nor did the components get stuck inside the track. This ensured smooth operation and performance.
