Elscint recently supplied and integrated a vibratory bowl feeder for feeding of a small pin having dia 2.5 mm x 4.5 mm length. The requirement was to not only feed these pins in axial orientation but to provide an escapement / singulator to release the same one by one into the regulator housing of the customer and press the same. Elscint used its Model 100, having bowl diameter of 120 mm for this application. The pins were fed into a tube and a pneumatic escapement with SMC make cylinder was provided along with all the controls for the same to ensure that a pin was released on receipt of a signal from a sensor, again provided by Elscint.
