Innovative Usage of Vibratory Bowl Feeders – Elscint Vibratory Bowl Feeder for steel tubes

Parts where the diameter is less than the length, those where the diameter is equal to the length and those where the diameter is more than the length as said to be belonging to different families of components when the requirement is feeding these through a vibratory bowl feeder. Hence, it is very difficult to accommodate all these families in a single vibratory bowl feeder. Hence, many bowl toolers, advice a single vibrator with multiple bowls to feed all these various bowls. However, an intelligent bowl tooler can design a bowl where one can feed all these components in the same bowl with very easy changeover tooling. In fact, Elscint recently manufactured a bowl feeder for feeding of steel tubes of various sizes. There were a total of 6 tubes. In case of some, the diameter was more than the length while in some cases the diameter was less than the length (length being more) and in the rest, the diameter was equal to the length. The orientation required was “standing” for one machine while for another it was “rolling”. A linear vibratory track was provided in case of the “standing” orientation while in case of rolling, gravity chute was provided. Elscint vibratory bowl feeder model 400 with a cast aluminum bowl was used for this purpose. The bowls were coated with Elscinthane PU coatings and the tooling was manufactured in stainless steel.
