Innovative Usage of Vibratory Bowl Feeders – Elscint Vibratory Bowl Feeder for feeding of brass inserts

Elscint recently manufactured a bowl feeder for feeding of brass inserts. In fact, two bowl feeder were manufactured, one for feeding of brass inserts having dia 10.50 x 12.50 mm length and dia 13 x 12 mm length. The brass inserts were conical in shape, making the orientation difficult, especially for the dia 13 x 12 mm one as the length and the minor diameter were the same. However, the innovative tooling designed by Elscint ensured that the orientation was correct and possibility of wrongly oriented components was totally eliminated. Additionally, a linear vibrator was provided to ensure the components were taken ahead with a slot in the track for easy pickup of the components at the end of the track. The customer requested for frequency controllers for the bowl feeder and the linear vibrator as well as feedback control for the vibratory bowl feeder. This too was supplied. There were a total of 3 sets, which were delivered within 4 weeks of receipt of the order. Elscint used its Model 250 bowl feeder with Elscinthane PU coating. The brass inserts being metallic, with the Elscinthane PU coating, the metal to metal contact between the bowl surface and the inserts was avoided, thus reducing the noise considerably.
