One part was for feeding of “compressor bar”, which is used in box files. The requirement was to get these parts which were having length of 130 mm x 18 mm width in lengthwise position with “face orientation” ensuring that the plastic lock was always at the top. The customer also wanted to eliminate the parts where the parts were “locked” i.e. the lock was down. When the parts were “locked”, the height of the part with face up and face down was same, leading to difficulty in eliminating the same. However, Elscint provided a special type of tooling to ensure that the “locked” parts too get eliminated. Elscint used it Model 400 with a stainless steel step type bowl with Elscinthane PU coating for this purpose. A speed of 50 parts per minute was achieved.
