Elscint, recently completed a project where the requirement was to feed small pins having diameter of just 1.62 x 18.50 length. One end of the pin was flat while the other was slightly conical. The customer wanted one bowl feeder with the flat end forward while the second one was required with the conical side forward. Speed required was 30 parts per minute. A linear vibrator with a 200 mm length track was required for each of these two bowl feeders. Elscint provided a solution with its Model 160 Vibratory bowl feeder with a cylindrical bowl for both these applications. The bowl was fabricated from stainless steel and the output was provided in a stainless steel tube. The bowls had a diameter of 230 mm with linear vibrator Model LF VI ahead of the same with track length of 200 mm each. The bowl feeders and the linear vibrators were mounted on a single plate to ease of integration at the customer’s end. Elscint provided 100% accuracy of orientation. This was very important as in case of even a single pin coming in wrong orientation, they would jam in the outlet tube.
