Elscint Vibratory Bowl Feeder for feeding Plastic Parts

Elscint was recently approached by a customer for orienting 3 plastic parts, which most bowl feeder manufacturers had regretted. The reason being that the orientation was critical. In all the three parts, all the dimensions except for the length were the same. One was 15 mm and another was 24 mm while the third part was having a length of just 5 mm.. However, as the other dimensions were more than this length, the way in which this part came out of the bowl was different than the other two. Due to this, the parts had to be oriented differently. Hence, Elscint recommended two bowls, one for the first two parts where there was only length difference and one separate special one for the third part whose length was less. Further there were 6 permutations & combinations in which the parts could come out and hence only one out of the 6 could be used. This further added to the complications. The speed required was 45 parts per minute. As against this, Elscint achieved a speed or feed rate of 80 parts per minute for the smallest part and 60 parts per minute for the other two. Both the bowls could be fixed on the same vibrator and it was ensured that the outlet points were the same. Due to the bowl being different, the changeover was very fast between the three parts.  You can watch the video of the bowl feeding the first part  here.  The video of the second part can also been seen in the same bowl here and of the third part with the changeover bowl can be seen here.
