Elscint, recently supplied a vibratory bowl feeders with dual tracks for feeding plastic plugs. The diameter and the length of these plugs were equal (diameter 8 x 8 mm length). The orientation required was axial in a flexible tube. Whenever the diameter and the length are the same, there is a chance of wrong orientation as the wrongly oriented part cannot be removed by way of a wiper or a window. This makes orientation of such parts difficult. However, Elscint has mastered a technique wherein this orientation is made in a the most efficient manner, ensuring that not even a single part can come in wrong orientation. Further, it is important that the outlet tube in which the parts are conveyed forward is such that the plug does not twist or change its orientation in the same. The speed required was 10 parts per minute per row and Elscint achieved a speed of 150 parts per minute per row. Whenever there are two rows, it is imperative that proper overflow arrangement is made to ensure that once any one tube gets full, the extra plugs fall back into the bowl.
